The basket weave is applied using a blue denim creating the effect across the sides of the skirt.
The basket weave structure is a reflection of the basket weaving in the Caribbean islands, that were used with leaves and branches to make roof for homes, baskets and more. It is a skill that is expressed across all the islands and was a technique embodied by the indigenous and african population. For this collection, it reflects how interconnected we all are and how many cultures came together to create the one we value.
