Notre Histoire ‘Our Story’
Fashion is history! Every design has a story!
Jade Chrysanthe Atelier is a made-to-order womenswear brand rooted in ancestral healing, spirituality, and cultural pride. We offer garments alongside herbal and spiritual tools that nurture holistic well-being — empowering confidence, creativity, and self-expression.
Specializing in print design, size inclusivity, and cultural representation, we create comfortable, well-crafted pieces for all sizes and ages. Our mission is to inspire freedom in design and fit, encouraging you to set your own trends and feel at home in your body.
Inspired by the vibrant heritage of the French West Indies and Guadeloupe, we reimagine the iconic Madras plaid through modern interpretations and non-traditional fabrics — breathing new life into this cherished cultural symbol.
At Jade Chrysanthe Atelier, we follow a circular and mindful approach — reusing, reinventing, and reducing excess to honor both people and planet.
Our pieces are more than clothing — they are extensions of spirit. Each design uplifts, empowers, and reconnects you with your roots, your rhythm, and your truth.
Le Madras et ses origines - The madras
Madras is a hand-woven cotton fabric known for its vibrant, uneven plaid patterns. Originating in Chennai, India (formerly Madras), the textile evolved from simple cotton weaves to colorful checks under Scottish colonial influence in the 1800s.
The fabric made its way to the Caribbean during colonization, where it became a powerful symbol of cultural pride and identity. Each island now celebrates its own version of Madras in national dress, with unique color palettes reflecting their heritage.
Unlike traditional tartan, Madras features irregular lines and color blocks, offering a more fluid, expressive pattern. Woven on dobby or jacquard looms, its lightweight texture makes it ideal for tropical wear—and a timeless expression of resilience, beauty, and history.
Guided in Spirit, Produced with Love
At Jade Chrysanthe Atelier, creativity is intuitive and spirit-led. We don’t follow rules—we follow what’s needed in the moment. While we honour our ancestral roots, our expression is ever-evolving, fluid, and free.
This is more than fashion. It’s a sacred space where ancestral wisdom, nature, and spirituality meet. Each garment is an offering—created to nourish the spirit, awaken what’s been quieted, and bring you into deeper harmony with yourself and the Earth.
Founder Jade Chrysanthe has been creating since childhood. As life unfolded through motherhood and societal expectations, she was called inward—to stillness—where she redefined design as a form of healing. Fashion became a spiritual practice, a way to express energy, identity, and intention.
That’s how our philosophy was born:
“Wear what you are, to be different at what they give.”
We believe clothing is energy. A visual prayer. A sacred act of self-expression.
Each collection is crafted with purpose and ritual—infused with herbal remedies, spiritual tools, and ancestral healing—supporting your evolution in alignment with your soul.
We honour all paths. This is a space of authenticity, shared learning, and freedom.
The body is an altar. The fabric is a vessel. Fashion is ceremony.
Sustainability - Our Circular Approach
At Jade Chrysanthe Atelier, sustainability is at our core. We embrace a circular approach by reusing, reinventing, restructuring and repurposing existing fabric, scraps and other materials into new garments, patchworks, and accessories. Every scrap is given new life, reducing waste and providing longevity.
Our garments are individually handmade by our in-house designer, she takes pride and care in ensuring each piece you receive has been crafted to be durable, timeless, and meaningful. We don’t follow fleeting trends; instead, we create pieces that tell stories of craftsmanship, culture, and soulful connection.
We also incorporate herbalism and spirituality into our designs using natural dyes and healing plants to infuse each piece with energy and intention. This holistic approach ensures every stitch carries deeper significance, our garments are meant to be experienced, not just worn.
At Jade Chrysanthe Atelier, sustainability is a way of life. We honor resources, minimize waste, and create pieces that connect us to the land, our ancestors, and ourselves. In a world of disposable fashion, we stand for longevity, craftsmanship, and respect—making each piece beautiful, purposeful, and lasting long beyond our atelier.
Take-Back Program: When you’re ready to part with a Jade Chrysanthe piece, send it back to us. We’ll resell, upcycle, or transform it into something new—continuing our commitment to circular fashion and reducing landfill waste. Contact us anytime to start the process.
Who is behind the brand?
A little about me…
I was born in the South of France,in Cannes, and moved to London when I was two. My upbringing has always existed between places—between countries, cultures, and identities. My heritage is layered: Guadeloupean, Indian, Portuguese, French. Each part shaped me, though for a long time, I didn’t fully know how to live in all of them at once.
Childhood was filled with travel, with returning to France for holidays, where I found a quiet sense of peace and rootedness. France felt like home, even when I was far from understanding what that truly meant.
Sewing has always felt natural to me. I come from a line of women who created not by profession, but by passion. I watched my mother mend socks and felt an instant pull. That quiet moment lit something in me. I started hand-stitching my own pieces at a young age, and with the support of my family, eventually learned to use a machine, read patterns, and give form to imagination.
In 2019, I studied Fashion Design & Development at London College of Fashion, it was a dream come true, a chance to pursue what had always been my calling. Before that, I had the chance to intern with costume designer Annie Symmons on a Frederick Douglass film project, an experience that opened my eyes to the world of costume design and its relationship with fashion, broadening my perspective on where creativity can take you. A moment to discover how it could hold story, memory, and symbolism far beyond trend.
My practice began to shift. I no longer saw fashion as an industry to keep up with—but as a sacred expression. A spiritual act.
A turning point came when I travelled to Guadeloupe to reconnect with my roots. Life there moves differently. It reminded me of what I’d been craving: stillness, slowness, simplicity. Despite the challenges of island life, there’s joy, resilience, and a way of living that stays close to nature, to rhythm, to spirit. It brought me back to myself.
As I evolved personally, especially as a mother, I had to redefine my journey. I accepted that my path would not mirror others; it would take its own pace. It deepened my sense of care, of presence, of intention. Around the same time, I was pulled toward herbalism and spiritual healing. These parts of me—design, healing, spirit—no longer wanted to live separately. They wanted to move together.
That’s where this brand began.
A space where culture, ancestral wisdom, and creativity are honoured. A space for garments that don’t just clothe—but connect. To yourself, your story, your truth.
My brand isn’t about seasons or spectacle. It’s about feeling. It’s about slow intention, personal ritual, and the freedom to express all that you are. Whether it’s through a silhouette, a pattern, or a healing tool—this work is about offering you something deeper.
Something made with love. Something rooted in spirit. Something real.
